Do Hadad products require “Teviah”?
According to Jewish law metal and glass utensils that were own by gentile require immersion in a kosher Mikveh before they can be used. This is separate and additional obligation above making sure that the utensil is Kosher - which new items almost always are.
Hadad is a Jewish owned business that creates the items itself with Jewish craftsmen. Because of this most items that are purchased directly from Hadad Brother do not require immersion, as they were never own by a Gentile. This includes any item purchased from the website or from any of our stores in Israel. One exception is the glass insert of the honey dishes and salt dishes which were not produced by Hadad but purchased from a supplier.
Only items that directly related to serving or preparing food require immersion. Our washing cups, candlesticks, candelabras, menorahs, mezuzahs, etrog boxes and torah decorations never require immersion under any circumstances. Saucers that are used only as saucers and never as plates do not require immersion.
